ABOUT
Laneway Music was founded in September 2015 to make artists music available on all platforms worldwide for fans to enjoy, and to ensure that artists would be paid fairly for their music on time, every time.

Truth be told, Laneway was born from a somewhat selfish perspective - we were unable to access some of our favourite artists on digital platforms, and decided to do something about it.

Since then, we have added an electronic label - Ekko Music - where our artists in that genre live. Ekko understands that the electronic world requires a slightly different approach to the rock world, and is designed with that in mind.

Our philosophy is simple.

-
Music should be accessible for fans to access and enjoy on the various and evolving digital platforms.
-
Music should be preserved and not 'lost'.
-
Artists should be compensated for their music in a transparent, respectful and fair way.

At Laneway & Ekko - we're about the artists and the music.

This approach flows through to our sister company, LanewayRED, a download and streaming site which returns the vast majority of revenue to artists, retaining only a small percentage for costs, allows listeners to download or stream in high quality WAV format, and provides tools for artists to create and engage with their community of listeners.
